Sean’s approach to supporting ‘behaviour management’ is unlike any I have come across. Don’t think ‘whole-school staff training day’, rather an ongoing bespoke intervention which is entirely tailored to address the needs of an individual teacher with a specific class. This approach has the potential for genuine impact, exactly where it is needed. He coaches colleagues in observing and analysing the dynamics within the group, considering how each child affects learning in the class. This shared understanding forms the basis of the strategies which Sean develops and supports the teacher to implement. Dialogue is maintained and practical solutions are drip-fed over an extensive time period using a dedicated blog. The colleague sees practical solutions and ongoing support, underpinned by robust educational philosophy. They also benefit from Sean’s passion for helping them to develop professionally.
