Using the latest research from Neuro Science, Child Development, & Attachment Theory, I utilise the tools and training from the THRIVE approach:
Designed to improve children's behaviour, increase their readiness to learn and capacity to progress, you can use different pathways through the program. Diagnostic assessment informs personalised targets and strategies which co-ordinates 1-1, whole class, and home interventions. Reviews produce quanifiable data which can contribute to Whole School Action Plans. These are applicable to both primary and secondary settings and could incorporate PUPIL PREMIUM pupils. There are three routes:
|
i. Whole Class/Group Screening: by screening all of the children in a group or class to check their emotional and social skills against age related expectations (First Route). |
ii. Screen Baseline Skills: screening an individual child's emotional and social skills (Second Route requires parental / carer consent).
iii. Full Assessment: considering the behaviours that may be causing concern or interrupting a child's learning (Third Route requires parental / carer consent). |
"I have worked with Sean over the past 16 weeks, starting with his excellent INSET relating to behavioural management and the use of Thrive within a school setting. These led to excellent discussions in school and extremely useful CPD as we used the diagnostic sheets and software to create specific targets and strategies to use with a boy in my class [we will call him John].
Sean visited school on many occasions and was always extremely reliable, working very professionally both with staff and with John. John has made enormous progress using the Thrive programme, he thoroughly enjoyed all of his sessions and is working hard to implement various strategies that he can now see will help him. The Thrive programme has been an extremely positive experience for me personally and for our school; something we would certainly consider implementing with other children in our school."

"Sean Warren is both professional and approachable. He has a natural warmth and calmness, which children respond well to. From the onset, he engaged with and valued the input of child, parents and staff. He listened to their concerns and ensured that they were actively included in the process. The Thrive approach he employed has had a big impact on all stakeholders; the strategies he used will have a lasting legacy. The child in question, made excellent progress in terms of his area most in need of development (as identified by Sean using Thrive) and this has in turn impacted on his confidence, resilience and attitude to learning."
